I am an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement, based at Casa di Cura Figlie di San Camillo in Cremona, northern Italy — about an hour from Milan. My practice centres on arthritis of the hip and knee, revision of failed implants, and the planning that decides how well a replacement will work.
Two ideas shape the way I operate. The first is that the approach should suit the patient, not the surgeon's habit: I use the direct anterior approach for hip replacement where the anatomy allows it, and a posterolateral approach where it does not. The second is that alignment is planned before the incision, not improvised during it — which is why I developed my own planning software for knee replacement.

PracticalConsultations are held in Italian and in English. If you are travelling from abroad, the practical sequence is usually this:
- Send your imaging first. A weight-bearing X-ray of the whole limb, and any recent MRI or CT scan. I can give you an initial opinion before you plan a trip.
- One consultation in person before surgery, to examine you and complete the planning.
- Surgery and inpatient stay at Casa di Cura Figlie di San Camillo in Cremona.
- Follow-up can be arranged remotely with your local physiotherapist and surgeon, with scheduled review of your X-rays.
Cremona is roughly one hour by road or rail from Milan, with its two international airports.
